We invite you to join us for a two-day in-person program with curator Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss, focusing on curatorial perspectives and artistic practices in relation to Artificial Intelligence. The program is going to be in English.
Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss is a cultural and media scholar, researcher and curator of scientific, digital and media practices at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. She works at the intersections of feminist and anti-colonial art, political practices, digital technologies and narratives of (human and non-human) subjectivity. Sara is also a member of the editorial collective of kritisch-lesen.de
Program at Artep Gallery, Iasi, 4-5 June 2025:
On 4 June, Sara will deliver a lecture reflecting on her own curatorial experience in working with artists and artworks that engage with AI. Drawing on projects such as AI: Ancestral Immediacies, she will discuss how artistic practices can serve as a form of media theory in the age of intelligent technologies. Her talk will explore the ways AI challenges traditional understandings of creativity, intelligence, and authorship, and how curating with AI demands new frameworks of thinking and collaboration.
On 5 June, the program continues with a masterclass led by Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss, designed to explore the material, epistemic, and conceptual layers of working with and thinking through AI. Participants will engage in both group and individual reflection, starting from their own experiences or imagined interactions with AI.
Masterclass structure 5th of June:
