For the second collateral event of\u00a0Imago Mundi. Of Margins and Other Heroes, the RKI Berlin hosts an encounter with filmmaker, artist, and sound engineer Andreas Bolm. As a key collaborator of Nicu Ilfoveanu in the field of cinematography, Bolm has been invited to present a double film screening within the framework of the exhibition. The screening features Andreas Bolm's own short film\u00a0Jaba\u00a0(37\u2019, 2006) and the short film\u00a0Flying Sheep\u00a0(24\u2019, 2022) directed by Alexandra Gulea, with sound by Bolm and cinematography by Nicu Ilfoveanu.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWith their shared focus on marginalization, displacement, and the negotiation of identity, these works enrich the conversation around themes central to the exhibition, giving voice to individuals whose complex life experiences often remain overlooked. At the same time, the event offers a space to reflect on the dynamics and value of collaborative approaches in art-making, expanding the exhibition\u2019s scope to consider how shared authorship shapes artistic expression.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe event starts on March 28 at 6:30 PM in the\u00a0art space of the Romanian Cultural Institute. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAndreas Bolm is a filmmaker and artist currently based in Germany and Hungary. After working as a musician and sound engineer in Manchester, England, he began experimenting with photography and video. He went on to study film at FAMU in Prague and at the documentary film department of the University of Television and Film in Munich.\nAndreas\u2019 work explores the fine line between documentary and fiction. His films have been presented at major festivals worldwide. Jaba (2006) was shown in the Cin\u00e9fondation selection of the Festival de Cannes and won the prize for Best Documentary at Zinebi. In 2009, he took part in the renowned Cin\u00e9fondation Residency of the Festival de Cannes, where he developed his first feature film, The Revenants (2013), which premiered at the Berlinale and MoMA New York.\nIn addition to his own projects, he has been working as a cinematographer, editor and sound engineer with several artists, among them French artist Noelle Pujols and Romanian director Alexandra Gulea.\u2028Since 2020, he has been collaborating with Hungarian choreographer Bogl\u00e1rka B\u00f6rcs\u00f6k on widely acclaimed video and performance projects.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe project \"IMATERIAL or about the matter of photographed worlds\" is developed on two levels, which have photography as a medium of artistic expression at their center. The first stage takes place within the framework of the European Festival of Photography in Berlin 2025 (EMOP). The second stage of the project broadens the field of interest of artistic research towards the conceptual and technical possibilities of photography in working with the archive and experiments in typo-photography. The results of the process will be included in an art installation at the Artep Gallery in Ia\u0219i (May-June 2025).\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
